Dog walking is rewarding but hard work and for those who love the outdoors and dogs this could be one of the best jobs you'll ever have. But make no mistake this is a real job, not a vacation from one and we accept nothing less than walking dogs professionally.
Keys to success at Downtown Pets are -
1. A love for dogs and animals in general.
2. The ability to receive feedback and not repeat mistakes.
3. An interest in dog training and dog psychology.
4. The ability to maintain a schedule and be organized.
5. Good communication skills.
6. Taking a personal interest in seeing your dogs do well.
Walkers are paid per dog so there is an incentive to work. Pay ranges from $400 to $900 (before taxes) a week and we offer part-time and full-time dog walking and part-time dog running routes.
Requirements - Prospective walkers must be available Monday through Friday, at the same time frames every day and for a minimum of 6 months. You need to be interested in dog training or willing to learn because we walk dogs professionaly. You must have a cell phone (need to be reachable), recently new and good walking sneakers (we recommend New Balance) and you need to be consistenet on your schedule (can't have frequent days off, tryouts during the day, etc.).
