Chris Matthews: “Tom, we’re going to have to go back and figure out the methodology I think on some of these things (political polling).”

Tom Brokaw: “You know what I think we’re going to have to go back and do? Wait for the voters to make their judgment.

Chris Matthews: “Well what do we do then the days before the voting? We must stay home then?”

Tom Brokaw: “No, no, we don’t stay home, there’s reasons to analyze the voting. But we don’t have to get in the business of trying to make judgments before the polls have closed and trying to stampede and effect the process. “

“I think that people out there are going to begin to make judgments about us (the media), if they haven’t already, if we don’t begin to temper that temptation to constantly try and get ahead of what the voters are deciding…let this process go forward as it should (and) invest in the American people and their wisdom.”
