A web designer has run a scam on people in all areas of America. He primarily finds people off craig’s list. He responds to people wanting aweb designer, has you sign a typical contract agreement and then asks fora deposit of $750 up-front. The problem is you either can never reach him againand / or you never receive any work for your money. He specificially targetspeople outside of California in general.

What you can do if you’ve been scammed or contacted by someone like this?

1. File a Better Business Bureau complaint found here!

2. File a small claims case

3. Contact the local district attorney.

Either way please make sure you receive a portion of the work as “good faith”before putting down a deposit and as Craig’s List now says deal with people whoare local and you can meet face to face.
