Here are some quick tips and products where you can find nutrients you need in a vegan diet. While most of them can be found in vegetables and vegetable based proteins these are some quick ways to get your daily doses. I’m not vouching for this approach and you should obviously research it yourself, maybe with your doctor.
* B-12: B-12 is said to be very beneficial for anyone but is especially necessary for those who don’t eat animal products. I take a daily Solgar’s Megasorb Vitamin B12, 5000 mcg Nugget – (view solgar’s vegetarian products)
* Daily vitamin: I take Solgar Formula V vm-75 twice a day.
* For iron I eat a large bowl of Cheerios every morning but I am looking for an organic replacement.
* For protein I sprinkle NutriBiotic Vegan Rice Protein over my Cheerios. This protein powder is amazing – you get 12 grams of protein from one serving, it has only 1 gram of sugar per serving and only 1.8 grams of carb’s per serving.
Basically I knock out a big part of my iron and protein daily requirement with my first meal of the day and my morning vitamins. Outside of that I eat a balanced, normal diet for the rest of the day (^_^)
