“Many years ago a group of men who worked in a slaughterhouse stopped work for lunch. A lamb due to be slaughtered escaped from one of the pens and came over to join them in a friendly fashion. The slaughterhouse workers let the lamb nibble delicately on the lettuce in their sandwiches and petted the little creature as they all became acquainted.
Proving, eloquently, that it is possible to kill only what one refuses to really know, the men send the lamb away from the slaughterhouse. None of them had the heart to murder the creature.“
